Maui Wowie is a Hawaiian Sativa.  It was named in 1960's, and got popular in the 1970's pop culture with Cheech and Chong. It is debatable whether the original Maui Wowie still exists. Buds are very fluffy and trichomes have amber color (though it could be harvested early since it's Sativa).  It has a sweet tropical smell with a hint of fruit. It taste green but has a spicy woody aftertaste. Smoke is smooth, and as soon as you exhale, it gives a nice head high. Then eyes start feeling heavy and relaxed,  but you will be active and talkative once you get pass the peak. It works better for mentally rather than physical relief since it will make you think in a positive way and help you to be creative.  It is a good alternative if you would like to get the Sativa high, but Haze or Durban is too harsh. See also Purple Maui Wowie

• マウイワウイはハワイ原産のサティヴァ。１９６０年代より存在が確認されていて、７０年代に入りチーチ＆チョンなどの大衆文化によって飛び抜けて有名になった（現存するマウイワウイがこの７０年代のそれを先祖に持っているかどうかは正確には不明で、度々議論になる）。花穂は（バッヅ）は非常にフカフカで、結晶の先端を見るとわかるが九割近くが茶色がかっている。サティヴァにしては少し遅めの収穫。甘い南国の匂いとフルーツの後味を持ったバッヅは、木のような緑のような味と香ばしい味がする。全体的に煙は軽めで、煙を吐くと同時に頭中心のハイをひしひしと感じられる。煙を吐いた後だんだんと頭の後ろからハイを感じ始め、次第にに目がとろ〜んとしてハイのピークを過ぎると活発になる。良く喋り前向きな気分且つ創造的になる手助けをしてくれる。あまり肉体的痛み止めとしては効かず、どちらかというと精神的に参っている時にお世話になりたい。熱い昼過ぎ、浜辺に転がってこれを吸のもまた乙。HazeやDurbanの煙がキツ過ぎて吸えねえよ！って方はコレ吸うと良い。
